MUSCAT — The Khimji
Training Institute (KTI) in
association with
Mathematical Sciences
Foundation jointly organised
a twoday trainingcum
workshop on ‘Excel In
Corporate Finance’ recently.
There was a positive
response to this workshop
from professionals who are
involved in extensive usage
of Microsoft Excel for han
dling financial transactions.
At least 35 participants
from various industries like
banks investment compa
nies construction firms
insurance companies tele
com and engineering services
actively participated in this
workshop.
The workshop enriched
the attendees with a detailed
survey of how various prob
lems in finance can be set up
and solved using Microsoft
Excel.
Key financial functions
and their relevance in other
functions in finance such as
calculations of basic interest
rates future value net pres
ent value internal rate of
return and various other criti
cal functions were demon
strated and attendees were
treated to a guided realtime
hands on experience in using
the various functions.
The programme was facil
itated by delegates from

Foundation.
